The Labasa Seventh-day Church Youth group has ventured into bakery for income-generation.

The bakery was visited by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou, and his assistant Iliesa Delana on Thursday.
The visit was a blessing to members of the youth group because it may lead to more help from the ministry.

The ministers were shown the group’s earth oven and the bakery which was funded by the Ministry’s Labasa branch.
John Locksam, a qualified baker and group member, said they were fortunate to be visited by the ministers.

“I am happy because it is important to have the ministers over at Labasa. They inspire us when we know that we are acknowledged and assisted,” Mr Locksam said.

“It’s good to know that the Government cares about youths of Labasa and also the people in the North because of the developments happening in our communities here.

Mr Tuitubou and Mr Delana were visiting developments projects undertaken in the North by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
