Staff members of Mana Island Resort and Spa have been recognised for helping boost visitor arrivals to the resort during the 2013-2014 year.

The resort has experienced high occupancy rates and staff members were rewarded on Thursday night for their efforts. The Resort also invited visitors who had returned to stay at the resort for 20 times or more, as part of their Resort Returnee Week Festival.

“The Employee of the Year and the Supervisor of the Year award is definitely a motivating factor for our employees,” said general manager Ulrich Hoffgen.

Simione Qoro of the Grounds and Sanitisation department was literally on cloud nine after he was announced as the Employee of the Year for 2013/2014.

Taina Buli of Housekeeping was announced at the first runner-up while Information Technology staff Lavenia Tuidama scooped the second runner-up.

The Supervisor of the Year award was won by Akanisi Waqanisau of Housekeeping.

The resort employs more than 300 staff and is located in the Mamanuca Group.
