Fijian boxer Sefanaia Kau Vakacegu is ready to make his debut in the heavyweight division when he faces Alipati A’asa in Pagopago, American Samoa today.

Dubbed as “The Hitman”, A’asa is based in the United States and will be cheered by the local fans.
Vakacegu said he was ready to fight.

“I’m ready to fight “The Hitman” and I have come a long way from Fiji and I will not go back disappointed,”Vakecegu told SUNsports from Pago Pago yesterday.

“This is my debut in the heavyweight division and I will do my best.”

Speaking from Pago Pago, Boxing Commission Fiji director and tour manager Malakai Veisamasama said they were overwhelmed with the support from the Fijian community who had been awaiting for the much-anticipated clash.

“There are more than 300 Fijians here and the support is just overwhelming,” Veisamasama said.

“In typical Fijian tradition, they kept on hosting us every day. The boxers had their weigh-in and all are set to go for a good fight.”
