Resort Builds New Reception

Mana Island Resort & Spa’s infrastructure development to the tune of about $10 million is taking shape progressively and well.

Due to operating on high occupancy rates, the resort found the need to push for a number of facility improvements.

This was to streamline their operations with better facilities providing peace of mind for guests.

At this stage the construction of the resort’s new reception area is almost complete.

Resort general manager, Ulrich Hoffgen said: “It is quite a work in progress so that we can move into the new reception by the end of this month.

“The plan was to occupy the new reception area in the middle of November but because of unforeseen circumstances, we had to hinder the construction phase.”

The new reception area is being constructed keeping in mind the traditions of Fiji which will see two giant war clubs and two boats at the main entrance.

Features
“It is a spectacular building with a lot of lighting effects which blends in with the traditional Fijian influence.
“We have two big boats being constructed at the entrance whereby the guests will walk in and the two giant war clubs measuring up to eleven metres high.”

Mr Hoffgen said the old reception area will be demolished and turned into an information hub for guests.
While there was no fixed investment amount revealed on the new reception area, this and other projects overseen by Mr Hoffgen amounts to $10 million.

More projects lined up
Mr Hoffgen said the resort’s ambience will be further boosted by the construction of a new swimming pool with new features.

“We will construct a new swim up bar with the swimming pool early next year which is very common these days.

A new kitchen equipped with state-of-art equipment and a lounge bar, are also some of the first projects to kick off early next year with others to follow.
