Kerry Lights Up Vatukoula

The Vatukoula Bowling Club came alive on Friday night when singing sensation Kerry Damudamu officially launched his eighth album titled Rosi Ni Kadavu.

Speaking to GM, the Nagigi native from Savusavu said the reason he went to Vatukoula was because of the strong support of his fans from Nasomo Village.

“When I was working on the album it was at the back of my mind to come and launch it here,” he said from Vatukoula.

“And the timing was right because it coincided with a rugby sevens tournament in the village and most of my supporters were there in full force. Nasomo has a special place in my heart because they always invite me to come and sing in all their village activities.”
Damudamu who is a student at the Fulton College in Sabeto, Nadi indicated that it was his school mates and sound engineers Ni Vanuatu national Kayzeen and Drix who had helped him put together the album.

“The album is now sold at all Procera Music outlets in the country,” he said.
Damudamu said after the Vatukoula launch there are plans to hold a concert in Suva to promote his new album.

He pointed out that hit song Rosi Ni Kadavu was specially composed for his friend who hails from Tailevu.

“He asked me to write a song about him. He had gone to Kadavu and met this beautiful woman there.

“They became lovers and he brought her to Suva. She was new to the city and it was really a culture shock with those tempting bright lights and sooner or later she saw someone else and dumped my friend who was really heart-broken.”

Damudamu added that his other song on radio Au Diva is the iTaukei version of Evalina.
