Kwadjo Joins Super 8 Tournament

Following a reshuffle of the bill, Joseph Kwadjo and Kiwi James Emerson will complete the lineup for this month’s Super 8 cruiserweight boxing tournament.

After Australian cruiserweight Daniel Baff pulled out of his 10-round bout with New Zealand’s David Aloua, Anthony McCracken was taken from the Super 8 to challenge Aloua for his WBA Pan African belt as part of the bumper night of boxing on the North Shore on November 22. Kwadjo (21-7) had been training for the Super 8 as their reserve fighter and the durable 29-year-old, who was born in

Ghana but is based in Suva, Fiji, has never been knocked down in his professional career.

Emerson, who has only had a handful of professional bouts.

Scotland’s Stephen Simmons was pegged as the likely recipient of the international wildcard but he has a shoulder injury, which has ruled him out, paving the way of Kwadjo.

The inclusion of Kwadjo and Emerson (1-2) means the Super 8 tournament is set with New Zealanders Adesanya, Lance Bryant (3-0) and Monty Filimaea (9-10-1), Samoa’s Vaitele Soi (22-0) and Australians Brad Pitt.
