High profile former Permanent Secretary for Information Sharon Smith-Johns has gone with a tweet. Ms Smith-Johns was farewelled by staff and people from Government last Friday after stepping down after years in the always pressure filled role.
Hullo world, here I come, she tweeted as she departed.

INVESTOR INTEREST

Foreign investors have indicated their interest to buy the Yatu Lau Company Limited’s Lagoon Resort in Pacific Harbour. Offers were made to the company and now the directors are talking to a few potential buyers.  Dickie Bird said a prominent family in the North have also registered their interest

RESEARCH PUBLISHED

An organisation consisting of retired teachers around the country got together and utilised their expertise in doing research. They researched on some issues that were sensitive to the iTaukei. These issues were land, mineral resources, colonial era with the ceding of Fiji to Great Britain, which led to its Independence in 1970.
Dickie Bird said the findings have been compiled into a book titled; Na Vuku Ni Vanua (The Wisdom of the Land) which was recently launched.

NOT THE MENU

One of well known chefs apparently failed to deliver the goods to the satisfaction of some during a recent awards night . Dickie Bird said the chef was hired to deliver a three-course dinner and some guests went home complaining the food was not what was expected.
