13th National Transport Consultative Forum Begins

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport’s 13th National transport Consultative Forum gets underway at the Novotel House, Lami Bay Convention Centre today.

The forum will be opened by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Pio Tikoduadua.

The theme for the two-day forum is “Green Transport – Our Future”.

The consultative forum is an annual event where stakeholders of our transport sector converge and hold discussions as Fiji’s way forward to gain global significance in mapped.

Topics for the forum

Day 1

– Economic Overview of the Fijian Transport Sector

– Achieving sustainable energy and transport access for a greener environment; how best can stakeholders and communities work together through PPP and IPP to provide a healthier environment for all?

– Sustainable transport – Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) opportunities in the transport sector. “Discovering more opportunities”.

– Green Transportation

– Marine Environment Protection. Sustaining our maritime ecosystem and gaining economic advantage through maritime transport.

– Green Freight “The cost of reverse logistics” protecting our environment

– Accomplishing our international obligations – maximise competitive advantage opportunities.
