Fiji Car Club received timely assistance ahead of the much anticipated Quarter Mile Drag Race at the Nanuku airstrip on November 23.

Cruz Holdings Limited director Selwyn Douglas and operations manager Sumeet Singh handed over the sponsorship cheque of $4500 to Fiji Car Club president Raizal Haniff yesterday.

Cruz Holdings operations manager Sumeet Singh said the sponsorship is part of their initiative in assisting the sport.

“We are sponsoring the sports because we want to give our support towards the Fiji Car Club to ensure that this drag race will be a success,” Singh said.

“We wish them well and we hope for a brighter future.”

Fiji Car Club president Raizal Haniff acknowledges Cruz Holdings Limited for their kind sponsor.

“We are looking at 30 participants for this race. Top favourite would be defending champ Ravindra Nath. He has been the favourite in the past 11 years,” Haniff said.

Nath retained his drag race title last Saturday.
