The Vodafone Flying Fijians have made five changes to the starting XV that will face Wales at the Millennium Stadium this Saturday.

Lepani Botia has been replaced by Nemani Nadolo at inside centre, while Leicester Tigers player Vereniki Goneva will start at outside centre.

Ospreys centre Josh Matavesi replaces Jonetani Ralulu at first five eight, with Asaeli Tikoirotuma and Waisale Nayacalevu named on the wings replacing Watisoni Votu and Alipate Ratini.

Skipper Akapusi Qera has retained his position and will lead from open side flanker while all the other players from last weekend’s match against France have also retained their positions.

Two new inclusions to the team are Tuapati Talemaitoga and Tasman Makos forward Tevita Cavubati who have been named on the bench.

Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee confirmed that Botia and Ratini were unable to travel with the team to Wales because of family commitments; however he was happy with the selection of the team to take on Wales.

“I am very happy with the squad, I have been able to name for this match.

“The return of Goneva to the team and Nadolo to the starting line-up adds strength and experience to our backline,” McKee said in a press release last night.

“Josh Matavesi, who unfortunately was unavailable for the France match due to injury, will be looking to make his mark in the playmaker position in this important match, less than 12 months from when these two teams will meet at the same venue at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.”

This match will be an important one for both sides as it will be the 50th anniversary since the first Wales versus Fiji match that was played in 1964 at Cardiff Arms Park in front of more than 60,000 people.
