Sydney Club Donates Cash

Students of Toko Primary School in Tavua will soon have a roof over their heads and walking on dry ground when heading to school.
The Jyoti Club of Sydney recently donated $6300 to help extend the school’s walkway.
The club’s secretary, Nalbada Ben, and former residents of Nadi handed over the funds to the school board’s president, Nirend Singh.
Ms Ben said: “The club which consists of former Fiji residents who still have Fiji in their hearts always raised money in Sydney.
“We have donated thousands of dollars to various schools and charitable organisations in the country over the years.”
Headteacher Serupepeli Koroitubuna said the help came through the club president, Purnima Bajpai, who was a former resident of Toko.
“The school wishes to thank the club for this generous donation which will be used in one of the prioritised areas of school development,” Mr Koroitubuna said.
