Eremasi Radrodro is the latest Vodafone Fiji 7s squad member to seal a rugby contract in Sri Lanka.

Vodafone Fiji 7s manager Paula Biu confirmed they have released Radrodro.

“Radrodro requested a release from the Fiji Rugby Union because he has a family to look after. He left Sri Lanka early this week, but he will still be part of the extended national squad,” Biu said.

He joins veteran Setefano Cakau, Pio Tuwai, Joeli Lutumailagi, Leo Naikasau, Samu Saqiwa, Sanivalati Ramuwai and Apisai Naqaliva.

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan says 18 players will camp next Wednesday.

11 players have signed contracts

Eleven more Vodafone Fiji 7s players have signed their contracts with the FRU, increasing the number to 12.

FRU chief executive officer Radrodro Tabualevu commended the players yesterday. “The players’ acceptance and signing of their contracts marks a new era for Fiji Rugby,” he said.

“It bodes well for the campaign to win a gold medal in Rio de Janeiro as the contract will guarantee that we can have a player pool.”

“The FRU commends and salutes the players’ solidarity.”
