Vane Seruvakula, an unsuccessful candidate for the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) in this year’s election hopes the Government can use her skills in the public service.

The former executive of the Vatukoula Gold Mine confirmed sending in a resume and application to the Government seeking opportunities to put her experience in administration and cultural heritage to good use.

She dismissed speculation of a fall-out with the leadership of SODELPA and insisted there was no ulterior motive to her application.  Government sources have confirmed receiving her resume and application letter. It’s understood her application is still being considered.

“ I have a mortgage to pay to the future generations. I work on God’s time. I hope my skills and experience can be put to use, “ she said.

Mrs Seruvakula’s impressive resume includes experience with the Melbourne Museum as visitor advocacy officer, Heritage Victoria, Australia as a trainee and extensive cultural heritage management experience in Fiji. She holds a postgraduate diploma in cultural heritage and museum studies from Deakin University, Melbourne, a Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture from the Queensland University of Technology, Diploma in Horticulture and Landscape from Brisbane Institute of TAFE and a Diploma in Architectural Technology from the Fiji Institute of Technology now known as the Fiji National University.’s Derrick Campus.
