It was a special night for all teachers as they all returned home winners as well.

Swami Vivekananda College also acknowledged their hardworking teachers during the school’s annual prizegiving at the school auditorium in Nadi on Friday night.

Chief Guest and Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Dr Mahendra Reddy acknowledged the teachers for their dedication to their work.

“Today we also acknowledge the hard work of our teachers who have made part of your dreams possible,” Dr Reddy said.

He reminded the teachers of their duties and urged them to maintain their good work.

Meanwhile 18-year-old student Bal Reddy, who was also awarded for his achievement, dedicated his win to the teachers.

“After winning these medals I would like to dedicate the achievement to our teachers who have helped me make this possible,” Bal said.

“My teachers would go around to find the answers to any of the subjects that I did not know,” he said.

Bal, who walked away with five awards, scored the highest marks at the Fiji School Leaving Certificate Exam in Biology, Maths, English, Chemistry and Physics.

“Walking away with the most awards came as no surprise to me because I worked hard for them,” he said.
