Support Carnival, Minister Urges

The people of Ba have been urged by their former mayor, Parveen Kumar, to support charitable events.
The Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment made the plea during a prizegiving dinner for the Ba Riverside Carnival committee during the weekend.

“Being a chairman for the Ba Riverside Carnival, I know how important the public’s role is in these sorts of events,” Mr Kumar said.

“That is why I urge the people in Ba to support the event and help lift it to a higher level,” he said.

Mr Kumar said this year’s event was a grand occasion.

“It was a grand occasion here in Ba, especially when they awarded the 75th Anniversary medal to all those who had contributed directly to the council.”

He thanked the staff for their tireless effort.
Meanwhile, Ba Town Council chief executive officer, Dip Narayan said he was happy with the effort shown.

“We are here today to thank all of you who have greatly supported the event in any way. With the town council celebrating its 75th Anniversary through the carnival, it has indeed been a memorable year for us,” Mr Narayan said.

The night included fun and entertainment.
