Vocational Students Visit Fiji Sun

About 40 vocational students from Ratu Mara College in Lau visited the Fiji Sun Head Office in Walu Bay, Suva yesterday.
This trip is part of the students’ excursion which could help them choose their career path, says school teacher Ponipate Ilibau.
“We have students who take automotive and engineering, carpentry and joinery, woodcraft technology and housekeeping. These programmes are part of the Fiji National University (FNU) subjects,” Mr Ilibau said.
“The school decided to bring our students over to Viti Levu to be able to visit industrial places and Fiji Sun is one of them. This will help students to understand more of what they learn in the classroom,” he said.
Student Maika Waqanibau said the trip was educational.
“I am an automotive student and this trip helps me understand how newspapers are made and also machines that produce them,” Waqanibau said.
