Former national 7s rep Sitiveni Waqa departs for Sri Lanka tomorrow to take up a rugby contract.

Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan has already included him in his 20-member squad to prepare for the 2014/2015 HSBC Sevens World Series in Dubai and South Africa next month.

Waqa was also in Ryan’s extended squad for the Gold Coast Sevens which Fiji won 31-24 beating Samoa in the final last October.

“I already included him in the squad, but replaced him after I found out he would departing for Sri Lanka on Wednesday,” Ryan said.

I wanted to keep him but good luck to Siti and I wish him all the best.”

Waqa joins Apisai Naqaliva, Sanivalati Ramuwai, Pio Tuwai, Samu Saqiwa and Joeli Lutumailagi who have taken up contracts in Sri Lanka.

Ryan has selected 20 players to march into camp at the Uprising Beach Resort tomorrow.

Fiji won its first Dubai Sevens last year in style handsomely beating New Zealand 44-0 before beating South Africa in the final.

The following players are to attend training camp in preparation for the 2014/2015 IRB HSBC Sevens World Series to be held in Dubai and Port Elizabeth, South Africa tomorrow at Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour. For the Western players, the bus will depart from Namaka Police Station in Nadi at 6.30am tomorrow while eastern players to be at FRU at 9.45am.

All players are to bring their passport and four passport photos.
