Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan is eager to get down to business as players march into their Uprising Resort camp in Pacific Harbour today.

With the wrap up of the 2014 Coral Coast Sevens, Ryan has retained nine of the players from the Gold Coast winning team along with 11 new players.

He said from today he would take the players back to the basics.

“With the new players joining us in camp, we will be going back to basics,” Ryan said.

“I want to see how well the players become accustomed to what we have been doing in camp. We will be also be testing their fitness while seeing how well the boys gel together and adapt to our style of play.”

Ryan is confident the new players would settle in well.

“I am really excited and looking forward to working with the new boys, and I am sure they will all fit in just fine. They are all good rugby players and we will be testing them on their skills and fitness first and see how they go this week.”

The Fiji 7s extended squad that would be marching into camp are Apisai Domolailai, Apisalome Waqatabu, Amenoni Nasilasila, Eroni Vasiteri, Ilisoni Tavaiqia, Isake Katonibau, Jasa Veremalua, Jonah Tuitoga, Jone Qoro, Josefa Naholo, Keponi Paul, Manu Lagai, Nasoni Roko – Tabadamu, Osea Kolinisau, Savenaca Rawaca, Semi Kunatani, Seremaia Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvo, Vatemo Taniharava and Viliame Mata.

The sevens team are preparing for the next leg of the 2014/15 HSBC World Sevens Series in Dubai on December  5-6 and Port Elizabeth, South Africa on December 13-14.
