Early childhood care and education is one of the best investments a country can make says, Tavua Andhra Sangam School headteacher Sudha Kumar.

Parents were at the school to see 15 children graduate on Wednesday.

“This is a momentous occasion in the lives of children as they begin a new journey towards primary school education. This is also a time to recognise the outstanding work of the staff at the school and the parents of the students,” Ms Kumar said.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Tavua Angel Bookshop director, Yogendra Kant.

“Throughout my primary school education, I found that early childhood education was not recognised,” Mr Kant said.

“Early childhood education is the foundation of higher education and I hope that the current Government will provide free education for early childhood education students as well.

Kindergarten teacher Wainikiti Adi Ratuvuwai Koroivuki thanked the graduating students and wished them well.
