Lesi Tells Of His Journey

Winning the 2012 Vodafone Fiji TV Make It Count (M.I.C.) Show has opened up many doors for young Joseva Lesivakadua.
Looking back at his humble beginnings, the Saqani native from Cakaudrove said, he is always grateful to God for giving him such a talent.
“I’ve managed to reach this far through those God given talent,” he confessed.
Fondly known to his peers as Lesi, he admitted life has not been that easy.
He still remembers those early days when he often joined his cousins who where members of the Dorodrolagi Kei Nautusolo for a gig.
“A lot of things changed when I won the M.I.C show in 2012, offers came up for me to sing in renowned resorts and hotels around the country.
“I took those opportunities and went to the Naviti Resort and later moved on to the Captain Cook cruise ship.”
During this year’s Fiji Day celebration, Lesi signed up with Kulture Band, which is owned by seasoned musician Arthur Philitoga and is now based at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.
“I never regretted making that decision and I really like the band and we’ve a good boss who looks after our welfare and the pay is good. It is the professional environment of our work that I really like it most.
“I’m grateful to our leader Mr Philitoga for employing me,” he added.
Lesi said during his musical career he always looks up to groups like Nautosolo and Vagadrokadroka Ni Saqani.
“I’ve learnt a lot from them.”
He indicated that when he takes a break from work he often goes back home to Delainavesi where he has formed a small vocal group called Suva Na Baby Mix.
