Officers of the Fiji Corrections Service took part in a nationwide civic pride programme and cleaned up in designated areas.

In the Northern Division, eight senior officers from the Labasa Corrections Centre at Vaturekuka helped clean-up the Senior Citizens’ Home.

Corrections supervisor Northern Apimeleki Navuni said the initiative allowed officers to be involved in community work.

The Taveuni Corrections Centre, meanwhile, involved 24 inmates in their clean-up at the Waiyevo grounds.

At the Naboro Corrections complex, 50 officers and 151 recruits helped clean their premises under the leadership of Supervisor Southern, Penisoni Tuapati.

Twenty-nine officers of the Suva Corrections Centre cleaned up the farm at the St Giles Hospital and their premises.

Six officers and eight inmates from the Nasinu Corrections Centre cleaned-up at the St. Christopher’s Home in Nakasi.
Officer-in-Charge Waisale Soqonakalou said they cleaned their farm and also did some planting.

Staff members at the FCS Headquarters in Suva helped clean the Nasese foreshore from the School of Maritime Studies at Laucala Bay to the My Suva Picnic Park.
