Mark One Apparel achieved another milestone during the Westpac Prime Minister’s Exporter of the Year Awards.

Receiving the main award for the second time at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa last Saturday night, managing director Mark Halabe thanked his entire staff for their dedication.

“We did not expect to win this, to be honest only thirty per cent of me felt that we could win it,” Mr Halabe said.

“This win is trully an honour as we also celebrate our 25th year anniversary tomorrow and winning this award is a great bonus to our celebration.

“It had me worried since we had applied for the largest exporter award and United Apparel had won this.

“We told our staff well okay we did our bit but it felt really good to know that we had won the main award.”

Mr Halabe said their hard work had paid off for the past 25 years.

“I feel that we deserve this win and we hope to continue with this success,” he said.

The garment manufacturer said they still had room for improvement in terms of the company’s services.

“This is surely not the end for us… and we look forward to working on this in the upcoming years,” Mr Halabe said.

He dedicated the win to his hardworking staff and family for their dedication and support.

Mark One Apparel was established in February 1989 as a CMT (Cut, Make and Trim) shirt manufacturing business. Since then it has embarked on an ambitious programme to expand, modernise and upgrade its infrastructure, equipment and services to increase its efficiency, reliability and competitiveness.

Currently, Mark One Apparel manufactures garments in two major product groups – corporate and formal wear (men’s and women’s), and casual wear (men’s and women’s).
