Fiji’s World Supermodel Pageant model Caroline Rabukawaqa hopes to use the pageant to gain experience.
Ms Rabukawaqa, 21, was among 24 contestants who arrived at the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Pacific Harbour yesterday for the week-long pageant.

She said: “I need this experience and I’m a not a very confident person but I guess this will help me become confident in the future.”
Although she expects a lot of competition from the other contestants, she is banking on support from her family and friends.

“I hope it will go well. I’m 50, 50 I guess, I’m confident but not too sure. They are really good, very nice and beautiful girls and I’m just looking forward to the rest of the week.

“I have done speaking practices as well, some question and answering and I have also been coached to be confident and I have just also started modelling.”

Meanwhile, resort general manager Natalie Marletta said they have lined up a number of activities before the crowning on Saturday.

“They will be having photo shoots around the resort, they will be going out to see Fiji’s reefs, visiting local schools and in the night time they will be having a Miss Congeniality competition,” Ms Marletta said.

It is also confirmed that the resort will host the pageant for the last time this year before it is moves to Hollywood, USA, next year.
The 24 models checked in at the resort yesterday and were hosted to a dinner.
