FNPF Civil Judgement Tomorrow

The judgment in the matter of former chief executive officer of Fiji National Provident Fund Olota Rokovunisei and FNPF has been deferred by a day.

Mr Rokovunisei had taken civil action against his former employer, alleging that FNPF breached his contract when terminating him in 2007 following allegations of misconduct.

This allegation of breach of contract has been denied by FNPF.

Mr Rokovunisei (plaintiff) was represented by Samanunu Vaniqi, and FNPF (defendant) was represented by Davenesh Sharma and co- counsels Ajith Karunatillek and Laiseni Macedru.

During the hearing Mr Rokovunisei had said according to the contract that he signed, he was supposed to be given an opportunity to give his side of the story for the 11 allegations of misconduct he was facing.

He said he understood from his contract that he was supposed to be given six months notice and salary for his removal.

Justice Gamage Amaratunga would be delivering his judgment tomorrow.
