The Fiji Police Force is appealing for information from the public on the identity of a woman whose body was found floating in the Rewa River last Saturday.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that no one had come forward to identify the body.

The body was discovered by 28-year-old Mikaele Semi, a resident of the area, and his two uncles while diving for fresh water mussels.

The victim is believed to be aged between 45-50 years and is of Indo-Fijian descent

Ms Naisoro said the victim was 4ft 9inches tall of fair complexion and had long black hair. She was wearing a blue dress with a key pinned to the front of her dress.

Anyone with information that could help identify the victim is requested to call the Nausori Police Station or the acting divisional crime officer on 9904920.
