The Labasa women’s football team aims to bring back the trophy to Labasa after the Women’s  Inter-District Championship (IDC) at Govind Park in Ba this weekend.

The Jaduram Industries Limited-sponsored Babasiga Babes plays Tavua in their first game at 1.30pm today.

Coach Arthur Simmons said the girls were looking forward to the game.

“The girls have been training for few months as they look forward to the championship,

“We aim to bring back the trophy to Babasiga as we have been doing the last two years.

“Every team will be well prepared and top competitors are Rewa, Lautoka, Nadi and Ba.

The team’s striker, Sofi Vunibola, 21, said with God’s blessing they would win. “I’m ready to play my heart out for my Babasiga Babes and Labasa,” she said.
