The Shayal Sindhika-captained Nadi Women’s football team is optimistic of beating Rewa in their opening match of the 2014 Fiji FA Women’s IDC at Ba’s Govind Park today.

Team manageress Amina Hussein says they can win despite only four experienced players in the side.

“We have not played Rewa and we know under the coaching of Marika Rodu, they will be a team to beat,” said Hussein.

“We respect them as they were good during the Southern League but we will be playing this match as it was the final.”

The side will be banking on their four experienced players in Sindhika (fullback), Litiana Bolaivanua (midfield), Aliti Voli (right link) and veteran Savaira Ratu (centre back) who has been playing for Nadi the last 12 years.

Hussein said that the players have featured in the 2014 Rooster sponsored Western Zone Women’s League.

“We’ve what it takes to be playing in the final come Sunday..”
