Suva is hoping for the best when they go into the 2014 Fiji Football Association Women’s Inter-District Championship starting at Govind Park today

Suva Women’s Football president Ana Sovu said they make the best of the team they had assembled.

“I’m taking a team of largely inexperienced players who are competing for the first time at the IDC,”Sovu said.

“We’ve got a few experienced players who’ve played overseas previously but this team is largely inexperienced.

“We’re going to give it everything that we have and hope for the best.

“We’ve been training for two months and we just took a break over the past two weeks as most of the girls had exams so we gave them some time. Then we resumed training and just brushed up on skills. We’ve been focusing on defence and attack.”

The tournament will kick off today at Govind Park in Ba with the official opening scheduled for 1.30pm.

Meanwhile, Suva is in Pool Two with Lautoka and Navua and plays their first

game tomorrow against Navua at 11.15am.
