Being humble and persevering was what kept the Tikoduaduas going.

This was how Sereana Cagilaba, wife of the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Pio Tikoduadua, described the family’s life for the past few years.

At the Tikoduadua’s residence in Nadera, Nasinu last Saturday,  close relatives gathered to recognise Mr Tikoduadua’s ascent to Parliament. Sereana Cagilaba is originally from Natewa in Vanua Levu and is a nurse at the Makoi Health Centre.

“I believe what we went through as family prepared us for this moment. My husband is a committed family man and I thank the Lord for all the hardships we went through,” Mrs Cagilaba said.

“We will be celebrating our wedding anniversary this December and I thank my family for their support and for everyone who supported and prayed for us,”she said.

Mr and Mrs Tikoduadua have been married for 15 years and have two children – Sereana Cagilaba and Mosese Tikoduadua.

Mosese, 17, said his father was a man of sacrifice.

“I am proud to call him my dad and I thank him for his support and encouragement,” Mosese said.
