The annual awards of the Soroptimist International Fiji have been their way of acknowledging the efforts of the seven member clubs of the global movement in Fiji.

The global movement has a network of around 80,000 club members in 130 countries working to improve the lives of women and girls.

Hosted at the Fun World Plaza Hotel in Nadi last Saturday night, the success of the event was praised by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar, and permanent secretary, Josefa Koroivueta.

The awards were based on the SI’s goals and objectives accomplished by the respective clubs in Suva, Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Rakiraki and Labasa.

SI Lautoka scooped four awards.
