In a bid to create awareness on violence against women and children, Vodafone Fiji yesterday launched an in- house White Ribbon Campaign.

The month- long campaign by the Vodafone Fiji staff will run through December.
Its co-ordinator Adriu Vakarau said money collected would be distributed to women and children who had been victim of abuse, rape and any other form of violence.

Mr Vakarau said this initiative provided a platform for men to come out of their comfort zones and open up if they were usually involved in any form of violence against women and children.

Meanwhile, Mr Vakarau also confirmed that the company’s headquarter’s staff raised $12,800 from their Movember Campaign of raising awareness on prostate cancer.

The campaign ran through November.

Mr Vakarau said the fundraising was a success and the money raised would go to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital’s Oncology Unit.
He said they raised the funds through two pastry sales, a bad- tie day and a funky jersey day where most of the staff took part.
