A shipping company has indicated that their inter-island vessel will be sailing under a very tight schedule during this festive season.

Seaview Shipping Services Limited managing director Durga Prasad said yesterday they have five chartered bookings already confirmed.

“Our vessel MV Lady Sandy has been chartered for all these trips to the various islands in the Lau group,” he said.

There are two trips to Vanua Balavu, two trips Yasayasa Moala and a trip right to Ono-i-Lau.

Mr Prasad said these chartered trips are for those people who want to spend their Christmas and New Year on the islands and would also be an opportunity for those in the islands to come to Viti Levu.

“We have a really busy schedule,” Mr Prasad continued.

“With these five bookings confirmed for chartered trips we are still expecting a few more bookings to come in.”

The five trips, according to Mr Prasad are separate from their normal trips under the Government franchise scheme.

He has advised members of the public who wish to travel to their island for Christmas to make their bookings early to avoid any disappointment.

Mr Prasad added that they would be making their return trips in early January to cater for those who need to return to work and also for children as they prepare for the start of the new school year.
