The Sigatoka Hospital Maternity Ward will soon offer one of the best clinical services in the country.

This means from the end of the month, the refurbished ward will offer improved and international standard service to mothers delivering their babies.

Fijian mothers and visitors to Fiji can use the facility.
Divisional medical officer Sigatoka Dr Sravaniya Dasi said the upgrade was to ensure that safe motherhood was practised.

“This will also assist our staff to feel comfortable, especially working under a more professional environment,” she said.
Dr Dasi said they hoped to provide services under one roof.

The $3million project will be providing environmental health services together with a brand new delivery suite for expecting mothers that is designed for international standards.

“The maternity ward has an international design where overseas guests will be able to give birth here,” she said.
“The public will receive timely care in a more professional environment.”
