The Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, yesterday denied a report published in the ARUNTZ SHEVA 7, an Israeli media network, that he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The report said that the two met on Tuesday evening.

However, when contacted yesterday the Prime Minister said: “Story not true. I met up with the Minister for Foreign Affairs. Have sent photos.”

This report even called the Prime Minister the President of Fiji.

“Fijian President Frank Bainimarama began a three- day visit to Israel on Monday ahead of a meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening, after the latter fired key ministers and sent Israel to snap elections,” the report said.

The Prime Minister had visited Fijian troops serving with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) on the Golan Heights separating Israel and Syria.

The Prime Minister is understood to have now gone to Dubai to support the Vodafone national sevens team in the latest leg of World Sevens Series.
