Sonaisali To Reopen Under DoubleTree Resort By Hilton Brand

Vision Group’s Sonaisali Island Resort, following the refurbishments works, will reopen as DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonalisali Island in early 2015.

The property will be the first DoubleTree by Hilton brand hotel to open in Fiji and is currently subject to extensive conversion works. The resort closed in November.

Located 30 minutes from Nadi International Airport, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island will reopen with 123 rooms in an expansive oceanfront location.

The resort property will also offer a swimming pool, various restaurants and conferencing facilities.

Vision Group chairman, Dilip Khatri, said over a number of years, they have developed a successful relationship with Hilton Worldwide as managers of Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, managed by Hilton in Denarau.

“Due to the success of this property, it made a great deal of sense for Hilton Worldwide to manage our newest acquisition on Sonaisali Island,” Mr Khatri said.

“We are particularly pleased to introduce the first DoubleTree by Hilton property to Fiji which we believe will meet the needs of our customers and continue to provide jobs in the region.”

The Hilton Flag

DoubleTree by Hilton global head, John Greenleaf, said they were proud to be flying the DoubleTree by Hilton flag in yet another exciting market.

“This truly exemplified the strength and momentum of the brand on an international scale,” he said.

“Guests at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island will be welcomed by the familiar warm hospitality and service that is consistent with the more than DoubleTree by Hilton properties currently operating globally.”

Vice president, operations, Australasia, Ashley Spencer, said: “Fiji has long been known as one of the Pacific’s most idyllic destinations.

“Its close proximity to Australia and New Zealand, wide range of activities and rich culture and heritage make for a unique leisure holiday.

“With the launch of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Fiji, we look forward to providing travellers with an exceptional full-service resort hotel that compliments the country’s best tourism assets, particularly those on offer for families.”
