Westpac Fiji is once again supporting the local community through its Giving Tree initiative. Westpac will accept gifts and donations for the purchase of Christmas presents for a number of local children in need.

The Giving Tree is located at the foyer of the bank’s 20 branches across Fiji, and will be on display from December 1 until Christmas Eve on December 24. All gifts placed beneath the Christmas tree will be distributed by the Westpac Team to children of different charities before Christmas.

“Many people desperately need to know that others in their community care this Christmas,” says Wayne Beckley, the acting general manager, Westpac Fiji.

“We’re thrilled to be working with numerous charitable organisations to support these children, as we know that even the smallest gestures and support from people across our great country can make a difference to the lives of the disadvantaged.”

“We’d love to see members of the community placing a gift under our Christmas trees this festive season. No gift is too small,” he adds.

“Our own team will also be contributing gifts and we know these tokens will help children experience a brighter Christmas Day thanks to the kindness of staff and locals.”

“We welcome members of the community to donate gifts that will be suitable for children of all ages – whether babies, toddlers, children or teens.

“The gifts don’t need to be wrapped or labelled and our staff will look after that. However, if you do wrap your gift, please tell us what it is and who it is intended for, so we can ensure it goes to the right person.”

Alongside gifts, Westpac is also welcoming donations, which will be used to purchase additional gifts for distribution at the hospital.
