Avneel Anand of Shreedhar Motors, Ford Motor Company’s exclusive dealer in Fiji, this week received a $2000 reward.

This was after he secured himself the best title in a Technician Skill Challenge for Asia Pacific Emerging Markets Region at Ford’s 2014 World Cup Sales & Service Competition.

The competition was held across Ford’s 23 Asia Pacific Emerging Markets dealerships over the past several months.

An in-house competition was held by Shreedhar Motors where 25 technicians participated and Mr Nand managed to score the highest in the series of the exams.

Ford International requires the technicians to participate in a web based training which is the basis of the completion.

The training is divided into two levels the first is core professional and the second level is advance to the advanced professional. After completing the levels a series of exams is conducted.

Shreedhar Motors National manager, Parts & Service, Ravindra Singh, said: “We are very proud of Avneel, as this is a milestone for the company.

“Fiji is an isolated country and competing against the other renowned countries. This award speaks volumes.”

Shreedhar Motors said the company will continue to invest into their staff as they encourage skill and growth.

Mr Singh said: “This is an ongoing programme and next year we will have another set of technicians participating in this training.”
