Basic Industries Limited launched 11 new cement trucks with advanced fleet colour scheme look.

The cement trucks were launched at Basic Industries’ warehouse in Vatuwaqa on Friday night.

Basic Industries announced that of the 11 trucks, five trucks would start operating this week while the remainder in early January.

General manager, Mosese Volavola said: “With the change we are hoping that this will be something that will excite.

“We still sell the same quality concrete however, with the new and nicer packaging we are hoping to improve our service delivery which was restricted by the old vehicles.”

While Mr Volavola did not give a specific figure for the investment he estimated the cost of purchasing the new trucks at about a few millions.

Complemeting Budget

With transport and infrastructure budget allocation at $653 million, Basic Industries feels this is a wise time to invest as the construction industry will bloom from next year, he said.

“For Basic Industries Limited our primary goal is to invest into sufficient capacity and capability to meet the demands for the new projects that will be on the pipeline from next year” he said

“Basic Industries will continue to invest into their company in the coming year.

“A crushing and a pipe making equipment are next on the agenda to purchase.”
