The passion to see people smile and be happy during this festive season is now the goal of three university students.

Wayne Fisher, Junior Manaseitava and Marika Vosailagi are currently on school holidays and are playing Santa Clause to entertain guests and locals coming in to the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.

They are also giving away gifts to every child that checks in at the hotel.

“We love doing this because we are able to put smiles on the faces of children and adults that come in and we feel happy that they are able to get a feeling of Christmas,” Fisher said.

Although this is their first experience, Fisher said they loved how people had enjoyed their company as Santa Clause since they started last Saturday.

They said more than 150 children had visited them since then.

“We gave them gifts on Saturday and we also had a choir singing Christmas carols here; the gifts are bought by the hotel and we are just giving it out,” Fisher said.

“The response we have been getting from the people has been very good, not really locally but for the overseas guests that have been coming in, it has been overwhelming to us and it shows that they really enjoy what we are doing for them.”

The trio hope to continue this next year. They would be entertaining guests at the hotel from now to Christmas Day.
