InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa was among seven Fijian resorts that have set our tourism industry again on the world stage. They were the winners of the prestigious Gold Circle Award for Agoda.com.

This is one of Asia’s leading hotel booking sites and is part of American stock exchange NASDAQ-listed Priceline Group (Nasdaq:PCLN).

The prestigious and sought-after awards are given to hotels and resorts around the world that embody the best qualities of the online hospitality industry.

InterContinental area director of Sales and Marketing Kamal Haer said: “This is an amazing achievement that is only possible with our team who are dedicated to delivering exceptional quality service for every guest.

“We are very pleased with the award and look forward to continue delivering guest experiences with special memories that last a life time.”

“This award, alongside our recognition as the best resort in Fiji at the 2014 HM Awards cements our status as the best accommodation in Fiji,” Ms Haer added.

 

Resort focus

As part of InterContinental Fiji’s focus on generating business out of emerging markets, the marketing team has pushed aggressively into Asian market.

This was particularly into China, Korea and India among other markets to gain stronger brand recognition and returns from the Asian market.

InterContinental Fiji director of sales Hudson Mitchell said: “It is both a great achievement and encouragement to get this award in recognition of our work with key stake holders in the Asian market.

“The award not only reflects our focus and vision of being the ultimate Fijian resort for the Asian market but more so confirms the fact that the experiences we have created for our Asian guests are being recognized.”

The Gold Circle Awards has run in its sixth consecutive year.

It is presented to properties based on aggregate customer reviews, competitiveness of pricing, utilisation of Agoda.com’s custom-built Yield Control System (YCS).

It is also presented to properties with a deep understanding of the complexities of the online booking industry.

In total, there were 1025 properties from around the world that were recognised.
