The Commissioner of Police, Major General Bernardus Groenewald yesterday met Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, over some outstanding cases.

He clarified that the meeting was not specifically in relation to the late Vilikesa Soko’s case. Four Police officers are suspended pending investigation after allegations that Soko died in hospital from injuries he received while in police custody.

Mr Groenewald said they had completed their investigation after the DPP office had returned the file to them.

Replying to questions sent yesterday, the Office of DPP said: “The DPP will only comment on this matter once the investigations have been completed and a decision has been made.”

Meanwhile, tomorrow, the Police operation for the festive season begins.

In an earlier interview with Police Chief Operations Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Polce (ACP), Rusiate Tudravu, he said their festive operation would begin on the December 10 and would end on January 10.

He said they would put more people on the streets.

ACP Tudravu said during this period, no leave would be granted.

He said they would like all to enjoy the festive celebrations.
