More firms Get Gold Card
New Fiji Customs Authority Gold Card Members tour the Gold Card Lounge at FRCA Building 1, level 2 in Nasese yesterday.

Sixty-three companies who have a consistent history of excellent taxation compliance were issued Gold Card certificates by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority yesterday.

The event saw the renewal of Gold Card Membership as well as the inclusion of 29 new members.

The membership is now 63, and has more than doubled since the Gold Card initiative commenced in 2012.

Authority chief executive, Jitoko Tikolevu, said: “The Gold Card Premium Services is to reward deserving FRCA customers who have been compliant in the past few years.

“It is also to visibly recognise that such entities and individuals are passionate and worthy citizens of our beloved country.

Benefits of Gold Card Membership
– Priority services and personal baggage duty free allowance of up to $2000 at international arrivals counters
– Priority services for passports and permits at the Immigration Department
– Baggage collection and escort services by Airports Fiji Limited
– Express lane and priority services for all inspection and clearance services at Biosecurity Authority of Fiji

“FRCA has also partnered with other agencies such as the Immigration Department, Airports Fiji Limited, Biosecurity Authority of Fiji, Land Transport Authority, Fiji Airways, Fiji TV, HFC, Shangri La and Tappoos to provide premium services to its Gold Card members.

“All these agencies and organisations will provide a red carpet service to FRCA’s Gold Card Premium Services members.”

There is a Gold Card Lounge located in the FRCA Complex in Nasese which is basically a one-stop-shop for the Gold Card members in terms of customs and tax services.

Mr Tikolevu has also once again request businesses to play their part and pay taxes on time.

“Government has provided incentives and concessions to the private sector,” he said.

“Last year concessions given by FRCA were around $300 million. The logic behind these incentives and concessions is that it will assist in economic growth.”
