Children’s Xmas Carol Singing Begins

Christmas carols singing by children at Ratu Sukuna Park in Suva started on Wednesday.

Vodafone Fiji’s chief marketing officer, Sanjeewa Perera, said 16 choir groups would be taking part in the ten – day event.

“They started yesterday, December 10 till December 20, (except Sunday December 14) from 5pm to 6pm on the weekdays and 1pm to 2pm on Saturday,” Mr Perera said.

He said this was also the first time the company was organising this Christmas event for the public.

“The platform is to do something different for Christmas by engaging children since it is holidays.

“We help stage the young talent to voice the spirit of this merry season.

“The very reason for this event is to give prominence to children and share the joy of the season through the voices of the little ones,” he said.

Mr Perera also confirmed that popular band Common Kings, singer J Boog and Tennele would also be joining the singing this evening.

He is inviting the public to Sukuna Park to enjoy the harmonious voices of the little ones spreading the joy of the season.

“We have also planned a grand march on Saturday, December 20, from the Flea Market to Sukuna Park with the 16 choir groups and band along with other awesome activities lined up that we will disclose in the coming days,” he said.

The Kalabu and Wakanisila choir groups were the first to perform on Wednesday.
