Residents of the lower parts of Delainavesi were happy with the hard work of the Water Authority of Fiji in restoring water.

Water was flowing from their taps from yesterday morning allowing them to go about their daily chores to the fullest.

Tomasi Narawa, 21, said he was thankful for the workers behind the scene working to normalise the situation.

Lower parts of Delainavesi were also part of the affected areas where there was no supply of water after the two water trunk lines were damaged in a major landslide at Savura Hills, Colo-i-Suva last weekend.

“It feels good to have water flowing again because it has been very difficult to wait for water trucks and collect water,” Mr Narawa said.

“The water trucks sometimes just crossed our place and went uphill and we had to wait for hours.

“For the past two days we had been going to my cousin’s place to draw water.”

Mr Narawa said he was happy because he had a lot of clothes to wash and with the water supply back on; he was able to do so.

“Water is very important and it is always difficult to go without water for even a day,” he said.

Another resident, Kitione Waqasavou said the workers at the Savura Hills should be congratulated for their hard work.

“It is easy to sit at home and complain that there is no water but the hard work is being done by the workers who try to ensure that supply is normal for the customers,” he said.

“So I just want to thank WAF and its workers for a job well done and hope that other places would receive water soon,” he said.
