There were smiles on the faces of the residents of the Loloma Home and Care Centre in Sabeto, Nadi yesterday.

This was after members of the Denarau Golf Club visited the home with groceries and household items as part of the club members’ Christmas visit.

The home looks after 19 children, some who are orphans, with the youngest being two years old. It is also home to 10 single mothers.

Club treasurer Robina Powell said it was a privilege for the members to continue their annual Christmas visitation with groceries worth over $600.

“This is the third year that we have kept this tradition to visit the home as they will need the help we are providing for them,” Ms Powell said.

Home supervisor Vaciseva Waqa thanked the club for the donation.

“This gesture shows their generosity by putting aside their time and showing a good spirit to think of us,” Ms Waqa said.

“We won’t be able to repay them, but we would pray to the Almighty God to bless their families.”

The home has helped 20 single mothers in 2010, 32 in 2011, 27 in 2012 and 20 in 2013. Meanwhile, the Waidamudamu Club from Suva also donated groceries worth $500 to the home yesterday.
