Nikhil Rovikesh Singh, 21, of Davuilevu has a success story.

He was among 1297 Fiji National University students who graduated from at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.

He received the Outstanding Award because of his dedication and perseverance.

“I’m so excited to graduate with a TAFE Diploma in Information Technology Networking,” Mr Singh said.

“I lost my father seven years ago and this is a very huge achievement for me and my family.”

Mr Singh said it was his childhood dream to become an IT engineer.

“I strongly believe it is very important for people to follow their dream and become successful in life.”

He advised youths to be dedicated to their studies because it laid the foundation of a stronger nation.

“I’m really thankful to my family, my lecturers and friends for always being there for me and giving me all the love, support and encouragement.”

His aunt, Renu Singh said Nikhil was like his own son and she was very proud of his achievement.

“I watched him grow up. He is a very dedicated student and I’m really happy that all his sacrifices and hard work has paid off,” Ms Singh said.

“All parents should always support and encourage their children.”

Mr Singh works as an IT engineer at the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation in Suva.
