RB Patel Group’s Life Cinema is aiming to be operational in Jetpoint, Martintar in Nadi from Thursday December 18 with a soft opening.

This has been confirmed by Life Cinema general manager, Hamish McGuire.

He confirmed they are also aiming to open with the Bollywood movie PK.

With the soft opening, not all areas of the Jetpoint second stage will be open as the food court and upper restaurant will still be under construction, Mr McGuire said.

Mr McGuire said the official opening has been scheduled for late January.

The cinema complex, with 600 seating capacity, houses four fully-digital, 3D-enabled screens.

The biggest screen is Dmax-powered by Dolby Atmos. The Dolby Atmos sound technology in the D-Max screen will only be the second of its type open to the public in Australasia.

The other three will be normal screens but one of the three will have 20 VIP seats at the back which will be fully-reclinable.

Before their movie VIP ticket holders will be able to use their own lounge area.

They will be able to select from a varied food and beverage menu to eat before or during their movie.

“Our Life Cinema concept reinvents the environment to suit a new age clientele, people of all ages whose expectations of the experience rightly differ from those of the past,” the company said.

“It is firmly our belief that the cinema experience must break free of the conservative boundaries that have existed for the last two decades.”

Mr McGuire said cinema audiences have embraced the premium offers that have been introduced to other locations.

“It is clearly now time that a purpose-built hybrid of all of these initiatives be created,”

“Our drive for innovation has always resulted in setting new standards in cinema.

“This concept will grab the attention and imagination of cinema patrons and stand predominately high on the world stage of cinema and entertainment.”
