It is understood that Fiji Television management was not happy with the deal struck between Fiji TV through its major shareholder, Fijian Holdings and Government concerning rugby on TV.

Fiji Television management is understood to have asked World Rugby to hold confirmation of the deal until a payment was received from FBC.

This whilst the chairman and group chief executive of Fijian Holdings – the TV company’s prime shareholder – were about to seal the deal.

It took two hours to sort all this out, delaying the announcement.

Word is watch for major changes as far as Fiji TV management is concerned in the coming week.

Fiji Airways climbing

More good news coming from our national airline.

The next Airbus A330 to join the growing Fiji Airways fleet will be an advanced A330-300.

Fiji Airways already has three A330-200s.

The 300 series has more seats, so it will provide Fiji Airways more opportunities to increase revenue.

This will be particularly important for the airline’s extremely popular flights between Nadi and Los Angeles.

Fiji Airways currently has eight return flights a week using the A330-200s and they are performing strongly.

The A330-300 will join the fleet next December.

It is being assembled at the Airbus facility in Toulouse, France.
