Western Heat Ready For Super League
The Western Heat netball team in Lautoka yesterday.

The BLK-sponsored Western Heat netball team is ready, says their liaison officer Kinisalote Drasuna.

The team, featuring players from Lautoka and Nadi, is ready for the  inaugural Super League netball competition.

The competition will feature players to assist in their development and taste top flight competition to assist in the selection for international participation.

Drasuna said the tournament was earmarked to start last weekend in Suva, but has been postponed until Saturday.

“So far our team is looking great and the girls are raring to go come the grand opening,” said Drasuna.

The team consists of top netball players from Nadi and Lautoka which six are part of the Kate Carpenter-coached Fiji Pearls squad.

“That in itself is a boost for these young players. We are privilege to have Mere Neiliko nee Rabuka as part of the team as she brings with her a wealth of experience. We haven’t chosen a team captain as yet,” she said.

BLK Western Heats: Mere Rabuka, Verenaisi Sawana, Alisi Naqiri, Sereana Maragi, Odila Theresa, Arieta Luvu, Maraia Nasau, Ilisapeci Lagi, Anamaria Bainitabua, Sainiana Nasau, Vilisi Tabailo, Asinate Tuveu, Maliana Rusivakula, Susana Vuki, Selai Nabotiloma, Vunivi Kereni, Ilisapeci Cama, Vani Navosailagi, Alisi Galo, Setaita Gusuna, Sereana Navualiku.
