Cuvu and surrounding villages in Nadroga will soon enjoy medical services from the new Cuvu Health centre.

Nadroga-Navosa Provincial Council assistant divisional officer Rusiate Raidaveta said not only locals would benefit, but also tourists holidaying along the Coral Coast.

“The people of Cuvu and nearby villages have asked for this for some time,” he said.

“This is because of concerns of travelling to the hospital which are costly and take more time.

“We are very grateful to Government for stepping in and funding us with this project,” he said.

Commissioner West Luke Moroivalu said the project was an important one to Government.

“The Government believes that it is very important for the people to have access to health services especially in heavily populated areas,” Mr Moroivalu said.

“Cuvu has become a growth centre for businesses around the area. This type of project is very important because it complements the services that people on the ground need,” he said.

The health centre which cost $1.3million will open on the second week of January 2015.
